UNC professors Jean Dennison (Dept of Anthropology), of the Osage Nation, and Malinda Maynor Lowery (Dept of History), of the Lumbee Nation, will offer us a teach-in presenting a history of indigenous peoples and a discussion of American Indian perspectives on the Occupy Movement and colonization. This would be a good opportunity for Occupiers to put our money where our mouth is and show up for this important issue of identity, power, underrepresented peoples, and voice. Hope to see you there.
